Are you a little nervous about how your car will perform on the trip down to San Luis Obispo? Picture the scene: you're stranded on a lonely stretch of 101. Steam is billowing out from under the hood. Rabble rousers and hooligans in leather jackets and Converse are eying each other, and you, with malice and suspicion. There could be a rumble at any minute! A gunshot is heard in the distance…. I know, I know, so you get out your cell phone and call AAA. But wouldn't it be a little comforting to have some friends there to help you out? Join the caravan to West Coast! Meet at Clint Moore's house on Thursday morning, July 9 for coffee and pastries before we set off for our weekend adventure. We will plan to be on the road south at 10am, stop for lunch in King City, and arrive at West Coast Story in time to unpack before cocktail hour. Please RSVP so we don't leave anyone behind!.

IT'S A MAD RUSH TO WEST COAST MEET!
We know finances are strained for a lot of folks this year. That's why we've wheeled and dealed to insure event and hotel rates remain unchanged since 2007 - we want to give you the most bang for your buck! We've even taken a recent trip to San Luis Obispo to plot out a relaxing and scenic drive tour for Friday afternoon, as well as conferred with the new hotel chef to ensure you'll enjoy some of the most delectable dining delights to cross your palate in recent history! Come early…many folks arrive on Wednesday, July 7, to ease into the weekend…and caravan with friends to make the trip more enjoyable! The registration area (in the north end of the atrium) opens on Thursday, July 8, at noon. So you can head out Thursday morning - just after rush-hour traffic - check into your room, and pick up your registration packet just in time for lunch! Thursday registration is open until 6 p.m., and then will reopen at 8 p.m. for those of you coming in that evening. Don't forget the free movie and popcorn in the Edna Room at 10 p.m.! For those of you arriving on Friday, registration will be open from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. so you'll still have time to join the drive tour and enjoy lunch at Biddle Park (if that's part of your package). And there's still room for those interested in the Hearst Castle Tour, also on Friday. Registration opens again from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for those of you coming in Friday afternoon, so if you've signed up for the Friday dinner and show, you can still grab your package before you get lei'ed (ooo, that sounds naughty!)…and don't forget to wear your Hawaiian togs! For those coming in Saturday, registration will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. by which time the car show will be underway…you'll find ballots in your registration packets! The hotel will also have lunch on the south lawn during the car show, so feel free to take a break from your viewing and voting, and enjoy a tasty repast. The weekend's grand finale begins with happy hour at 4 p.m., followed by dinner at six, and the much anticipated Award Show at 8! As an added treat…for those of you staying in town through Sunday, Central Coast Pride will be holding its 14th Annual Pride Festival at the San Luis Obispo Mission Plaza from noon to 5:30 p.m. if you'd like to stop by and show your pride (details at www.slopride.com)!
